FASHIONS GO PATRIOTIC

Ida Lupino is a firm believer in wartime fashions that are patriotic and at the same time colorful and feminine.  During the making of “Life Begins at Eight-Thirty” for 20th Century-Fox, she found time to dream up this dinner costume with satin-striped mousseline skirt in shocking-pink and white over pink taffeta teamed with  a “shirtwaist” of starched white chiffon.  Reminiscent of the Gay Nineties, Ida think this is the kind of outfit that appeals to service men, and she should know, for here husband, Louis Hayward, is now on active duty with the United States Marines.
